This site is built to WCAG 2.1 AA as a floor, and past it where the effort is small.

What has been done

  • Body text is set at 17px rather than 16px, and every size scales with your browser's text setting.
  • Every text colour pairing in the design system was measured. Body text sits at 4.5:1 or better against its background; most of it is far above that.
  • Every interactive element has a visible focus ring, and the ring is never removed. A skip link is the first thing in the tab order.
  • The navigation works from the keyboard, and Escape closes the mobile menu and returns focus to the button that opened it.
  • Motion is minimal, and what there is respects the reduced-motion preference in your operating system.
  • The site loads no third-party scripts, so nothing changes underneath a screen reader after the page has settled.

What are the measured contrast ratios?

These are the pairings the design system actually ships, measured rather than estimated. WCAG 2.1 AA asks for 4.5:1 on body text and 3:1 on non-text boundaries; none of the ink below is under the first figure.

Are the prices and reviews real text?

Yes. The price bands on the service, place and pricing pages are a real HTML table with row and column headers, not an image of one, so a screen reader reads the work and its range as a pair. Customer reviews are marked up as quotations with the name and date beside them, and the same figures appear in the page's structured data — there is no version of either that only a crawler can see.

Known limits

Wide tables scroll sideways inside their own container on narrow screens. That is deliberate — the alternative is reflowing figures out of their rows — but it does mean a horizontal scroll gesture is needed to read the far column.
